The Best Watermelon Margarita Recipe

Ahh, the refreshing taste of a margarita…it’s hard not to love this famously simple and well-balanced cocktail. Well known for its sweet, salty, and sour flavors, the margarita has been one of the most popular drinks when it comes to alcoholic beverages and happy hour favorites. There are lots of conflicting stories about who officially invented the drink, but there is no debate about where the famous drink originated: Mexico.

A traditional Mexican margarita uses three ingredients (lime juice, Triple Sec or agave, and of course, tequila), but most margaritas that you get at restaurants or at the liquor store (pre-made mixes) contain a ton of sugar and added ingredients that just really aren’t necessary. So in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we figured we would share a delicious and hydrating twist on the classic margarita recipe, without all the added sugars.
