John Robert McKay
My name is John Robert Mckay and I go by “Robert”. I am a visually impaired distance runner and rock climber. I have been running since I was a freshman in high school. I started running with the cross country team and just got hooked! I ran track and cross country all 4 years of high school. Then at Gordon State College I ran cross country for two years. After those two years I discovered rock climbing. I saw climbing as a challenge like I did with the cross country courses. In the fall of 2015 I started to want to push my limits with distance running. So I decided before my 27th birthday I would run a Marathon. That is what I am training for now. I hope to run the Rocket City Marathon in Huntsville, Alabama and then many more after that!
