Amro began competing in the sport of Modern Pentathlon in 2001 at the age of 15. Amro was motivated to compete in the sport by is his brother, 2000 Olympian Emad Elgeziry. Amro has since competed in two Olympic games, 2008 and 2012, setting the Olympic record in the swimming event. Amro was the 2014 World Championships silver medalist and was ranked 2015 World #1. In addition to his success in Modern Pentathlon, Amro has completed his Doctorate in Surgery and Internal Medicine. Amro has his sights set for Olympic Gold in Rio 2016.
