Dan is currently a fourth-year student at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he studies Journalism. He is a member and former president of the school’s Running Club, which competes against top college, club and open competition from across the USA. Although he isn’t elite at any one event, he enjoys running all speeds and races from 200m up to 10k; the 800m has always been his favorite. He’s also a member of the school’s Cycling Club.
When he’s not running, cycling or swimming, Dan serves as Executive Sports Editor for the Marquette Wire, the school’s student media hub. Much of his days are spent following and writing about the basketball, soccer and track and field teams. In his brief career, he has done broadcasts at Madison Square Garden and has been featured on the USA Today homepage, and someday hopes to become a professional sports journalist for print or radio.
While studying in Rome in Spring 2015 – between travel writing and photographing Europe – Dan ran the Lisbon Half Marathon. His goal before college was to run a full marathon before graduating; the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon will be his first in October 2015.
