Runner & Coach
I started running consistently in Dec. 2008 when I ran into someone I hadn’t seen in a couple and she remarked about how much weight I’d gained. That was my “Aha!” moment and I immediately started exercising and changed my diet at age 40. I started running 4 times a week and lifting weights 3 times a week. I registered for a local 15k and completed that in Feb. 2009. By Sept. 2009, I had dropped from size 14 to size 6 and have maintained since. Exactly one year after that 15k, I completed my first full marathon.
After running a couple of Half Marathons, I decided I loved this distance and have now completed over 60 Half’s. I’ve also completed 8 Full Marathons and a Sprint Triathlon. When I started running, I didn’t have anyone to ask questions, so I read and learned all I could. This led to me becoming an RRCA and USATF Certified Running Coach, and I specialize in helping people complete their “first”, whether 5k, Half or Full Marathon. My next goal is to run my 9th Marathon in January 2016 and qualify for the 2017 Boston Marathon. I love setting and reaching new goals and helping others to do the same!
