GET TO KNOW MUAY THAI NATIONAL CHAMPION JUSTIN NG

Although he is small in stature, our ambassador Justin Ng packs a big punch. He won his division in the 2015 WKA National Championships (118 lbs, under 18 age group), and is headed to Benidorm, Spain to represent the United States in the Muay Thai World Championship this November. There will be 120 countries competing, and some of the best athletes in the world will be in attendance. This week we decided to catch up with Justin, and learn more about his day to day schedule.
When do you train? How many hours a day? I train 6 days a week for 3-4 hours a day. On Sunday's, I rest. How do you juggle training and studies? My coach always tells me, school work is your first priority. I try to focus on doing my best in school even if that means I have to settle down on my training hours. Will you continue fighting through college? Definitely. Muay Thai is a lifestyle to me, I live it. What college will you be attending? The Borough of Manhattan Community College Tell us more about yourself: I was born and raised in NYC, where I started boxing at the age of 12. I transitioned to Muay Thai when I was 14 because I wanted to use my whole body as a weapon, throwing kicks, knees, and elbows! I started taking my training seriously when I was 15 and had my first amateur fight at 16. It's been a great journey so far and the journey is even sweeter with the support from Team Ultima!! A couple fun facts about me: - Favorite Ultima flavor: Grape! - Favorite post-fight food: Nutella! - I'm an animal lover!
Justin’s fight and training schedule might seem overwhelming to some, but he has made the time to complete high school (he’s graduating this month!) and will be attending college in the fall majoring in nutrition! To keep up with Justin, check him out on Instagram @j.ng, where you can find him training, playing with his pit bull/ lab mix, and adventuring around NYC. He also has a fan page on Facebook with more information about his fights and sponsers.
